Despite My Size, Men Still Run After Me —Actress ''Eniola Badmus''
Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmus, popularly called “Gbogbo Bigz girl”, has grown to become a household name among movie lovers. The Theatre Arts graduate from the University of Ibadan, in this interview with Adunola Oladapo, speaks on issues bordering on her career and how her size has been an issue in the movie industry. Excerpts:
Can you tell us how your journey into the movie industry started?
I can’t really say, but let me say that my childhood prepared me for acting. I started acting from my childhood days. I became very serious with it since my secondary school days, I used to be in the school drama group, called Fellow, so basically I started from there. As I grew up, I discovered I was falling more and more in love with the profession so I decided to take it further by studying it, so I studied Theatre Arts at the University of Ibadan. I also have another degree in Economics from the Lagos State University (LASU).
Was it the flair and the fact that you acted in secondary school that made you put in for Theatre Arts in the university?

Slim Ladies Don’t Attract Me – ''Don Jazzy''
At the last count by Forbes, Michael Ajereh, aka Don Jazzy, is rated as the 36th Most Influential Personality in Africa. He is young, rich and famous, no doubt, but has remained single for God-knows-how-long after a previous attempt at matrimony collapsed like a pack of cards.
“I’m single because I’ve not found the woman that my spirit agrees with. I was once married in the United Kingdom, but it was short lived. The union produced a son named after me. I don’t want to experience a collapsed marriage again. That is why I am taking my time, working and praying for a soul mate,” he says.
But what does he really find attractive in a woman?
“The way she looks, talks and how she carries herself. With due respect to slim ladies, there is no way any lady shaped like a broom can attract my full attention. I’m sorry but that’s the truth.
“My ideal woman must be God-fearing. She must have all the basic curves in the right places. The rounder and bigger her chest and backside, the better,” he says.

First time I had sex, I was raped – Foluke Daramola
Popular Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola, takes ADEMOLA OLONILUAthrough the journey of her life.
Why I am more into movie production than acting
I am a person that is very restless in nature. I have been acting for over 18 years. I feel that it is becoming monotonous for me; doing the same old thing over and over again, despite the fact that creativity is dropping by the day. I still do a bit of acting; it is just that I am more of a production person. I am even derailing a bit back into doing English soap operas which was what I started out from. I started with soap opera and English movies before I delved into Yoruba movies.

Extract:
YOU once said growing up in Mushin must have been a rough and tough time for you. How rough exactly was your childhood?
Talking about rough, there is something about Mushin that people run away from. Being a Mushin person, people don’t usually want to associate with you or give you things. When someone asks you where you are from and you say Mushin, they don’t want to have anything to do with you. But I saw it as a challenge. When I was a young boy, I attended Muslim Mission Primary School. Afterwards, I moved to Nigeria Model High School, Idioro also in Mushin. I decided that I wanted to get out of the place and make people know that it is not only rascally people that come out of Mushin. If we can talk of someone like Honourable Funmilayo Tejuoso, Honourable Ganiyu Solomon, Honourable Muiz Bamire all from Mushin making a difference, I determined that I could do better than they did. And thank God, for where I am today and I am proud to say it anywhere that I am from Mushin.
Are you not married or you’re divorced?

Be Careful Of Made In China Foods
ALWAYS READ THE LABELS ON THE FOOD YOU BUY
<!--NO MATTER WHAT THE FRONT OF THE BOX OR PACKAGE SAYS, TURN IT OVER AND READ THE BACK CAREFULLY-->
With plenty of food and pet products now coming from China (and with what he hear from the news about substandard products and chemical-laden products from there), it is best to make sure you read label at the supermarket and especially when buying food products. Many products no longer show where they were made, only give where the distributor is located. The whole world is concerned about China-made "black-hearted goods". Can you differentiate which one is made in Taiwan or China? The world is also concerned about GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) foods; steroid fed animals (ex: 45 days old broiler chicken). It is important to read the bar code to track its origin.
How to read Bar Codes.
This gets interesting! If the first 3 digits of the bar code are 690, 691 or 692, theproduct is MADE IN CHINA. If it's 471, it is Made in Taiwan. If the first 3 digits of the barcode are 00-09 then it's made or sourced in the USA. This is our right to know, but many governments around the world its related departments never educate the public, therefore we have to RESCUE ourselves. Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not prefer products"MADE IN CHINA", so they don't show from which country it is made. However, you may now refer to the barcode - remember if the first 3 digits are:
890......MADE IN INDIA
690, 691, 692 ... then it is MADE IN CHINA
00 - 09 ... USA and CANADA
30 - 37 ... FRANCE
40 - 44 ... GERMANY
471 ........ TAIWAN
49 .......... JAPAN
50 .......... UK

Obama's Half Brother Runs For Election In Kenya
President Barack Obama's Kenyan half-brother has launched his own political career by announcing his intention to run for a Kenyan county gubernatorial seat in the upcoming March 4 elections.
Malik Obama, 54, who shares a father with the US president, said in an interview late on Wednesday that the achievements of his brother have "inspired and challenged" him to get into active politics in his homeland.
"When I look at the success that my brother has had in the US, I feel I would have let down my people if I do not follow in his footsteps and end their suffering through dedicated, honest and focused leadership," Malik said in his ancestral home of Kogelo in western Kenya.
The trained economist said he is the right candidate to deal with the "endless cycle of poverty and unemployment that bedevils my people". "I can confidently say that of all the people who are vying for the position, I am the best placed candidate ... by virtue of my second name alone, I have the connections to bring development to Siaya," he said, referring to his home county 100 km from the lakeside city of Kisumu.
Although he says he is charting his own path, Malik Obama is using his now famous second name to try and get an edge over his competitors, who include the younger brother of Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
In a country polarized by dominant political parties, Malik Obama is running as an independent.
He said his links to Washington will help him clinch the seat. "Why would my people settle for a local connection when they have a direct line to the White House," he said as he weaved his way through a group of supporters, the slogan "Obama here, Obama there" looming on posters.

Chelsea Vs Arsenal On Sunday At 2:30pm Nigeria Time
With Chelsea struggling for form at Stamford Bridge, the visit of Arsenal comes at an unfortunate time for Rafa Benitez’ side.
Chelsea have won four of their last seven matches in the Premier League while Arsenal have an equally worrying record in recent matches. Arsene Wenger’s side will take heart from impressive away form in the league as they are unbeaten in their last 5 matches away from Emirates Stadium . Chelsea’s home form has been poor enough to warrant boos from the home supporters.
Predicted Lineups
Theo Walcott looks likely to start in the centre forward role for Arsenal while Demba Ba will likely start ahead of the unpopular Fernando Torres. Ba’s form for Chelsea has been impressive since his move from Newcastle and the Champions League winners finally have an outlet for their array of creative players.
Chelsea: Cech, Cole, Luiz, Ivanovic, Azpilicueta; Lampard, Ramires; Mata, Oscar, Hazard; Ba
Arsenal: Szczesny, Gibbs, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Sagna; Diaby, Wilshere; Podolski, Cazorla, Ramsey; Walcott.
With Mikel Arteta out with a thigh injury, it’s likely that Diaby will deputize (if fit)
Arsenal are 12 points behind Chelsea which is a worry for Arsene Wenger.
Chelsea have been in mixed form this season. After sacking manager Roberto Di Matteo in late November, the club has crashed out of the Champions League, World Club Cup (in the Final), and look in a precarious position in the League Cup.
Chelsea vs Arsenal promises to be a fascinating encounter. Rafa Benitez needs a big performance from his side on Sunday and will be eager to push Manchester City and Manchester United in the race for the Premier League title.
How To Spot Signs Of Sickness In Newborns
Instructions
Evaluate his appetite. The most noticeable sign of sickness in a newborn is the lack of appetite. If something is wrong, babies will usually stop eating and refuse any food. Projectile or forceful vomiting is also another reason to be concerned.
Consider his behavior. Your newborn's behavior is another indicator of sickness. Is he more tired than usual? Is he very sleepy and hard to wake up? Also, an extremely irritable or inconsolable baby is also a sign of sickness. If any of these symptoms persist for a longer amount of time than usual, you should be concerned.
Take the baby's temperature. Any fever of higher than 100 degrees Fahrenheit warrants a call to the doctor. Your baby's immune system is still immature and any fever should alert you to contact the doctor for an evaluation.
Review your baby's elimination pattern. Consider if your baby is constipated or if she has diarrhea. If your newborn is crying while trying to poop or does not poop for a few days or longer than usual, then you should be concerned. Excessive diarrhea can also indicate a sick baby.
Check your baby's breathing. If she is struggling to breathe, coughing, very congested or choking on excessive mucus, you should contact your pediatrician. You will see the chest move up and down, but when the baby is struggling to breathe, this will looked labored and be very hard for the baby.
Evaluate your baby's skin color. A sick newborn may be flushed and have extremely red cheeks or have very pale skin. If the baby's skin is yellow, this may be a sign of jaundice and blue skin may mean that the baby is not getting enough oxygen. If any of these symptoms occur, you should contact a health care provider immediately.

World Bank: Poverty Has Reduced In Nigeria
The World Bank has praised economic policies of the present administration declaring that it has led to slight reduction in the country’s poverty index from 48 to 46 percent.
Speaking when he visited President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday, World Bank’s vice president for Africa, Mr Mouktar Diop, said Nigeria’s economic indicators remained positive even times of recession.
He said “at the time when the economy is going down, we have seen that Nigeria has been keeping a growth rate which is rather significant. So, I was here to hear from the President’s priority and discuss other issues such as how poverty has been evolving in the country and what we can do to accelerate the reduction of poverty.
“Our work recently has shown that there is slight reduction in the level of poverty in Nigeria moving from 48 to 46 percent. The trend is good. It needs to be accelerated obviously. What we discussed are the policies that we can put in place to accelerate the pace of poverty reduction in Nigeria.”
Diop said the World Bank has decided to intervene in Nigeria’s energy crisis saying, “We decided at the World Bank to put up a task force which will include private sector branch to support the reform. It is good that the reform is really making progress. I was with the main players of the power sector today, and they were all happy with the reform process so far.”
On his part, Jonathan said though some of the reforms were not easy to push through, his administration would continue to do its best towards ensuring sustainable growth in the country.
“We will continue to do our best. We would have had more robust growth by now but for the global economic recession. With your continued support, we will certainly achieve more,” the president said.
Jonathan said that with the continued support of the World Bank, other international institutions and investors the Federal Government will achieve an even higher growth rate for the national economy.

French Embassy In Lagos Selling Visas To The Highest Bidders?
Complain 1
HON.ADEMOLASat, 15 Dec 2012 03:59 EST
ISSUE FRENCH VISA AND STOP EXTORTION TO NIGERIAN CITIZEN'S NOW
Embassy Arrogance
French embassy handling of, and behavior towards black Africans
leaves no doubt about the absolute discrimination and racism of
the consulate-general. The embassy's arrogance do includes deliberate
inadequate supply of infomation for visa, financial extortions, refusal
to answer mails and phone, and refusal to address public complaints and
concerns etc.
Applicants are deliberately made to pay for visa the embassy is sure will
not be given, only to be told that their submitted docs was not complete.
HOW(in GOD'S name)DO PEOPLE SUBMIT COMPLETE DOCS. WHEN THE EMBASSY IS
REFUSING TO ALLOW THEM KNOW WHAT THE REAL REQUIREMENTS FOR A VISA ARE?
Most Nigerian now believe the embassy is selling visas to the highest
bidders through some local agencies and third parties.
NIGERIANS MUST BEWARE OF THE FRENCH EMBASSY DUBIOUS EXTORTION!!

Be Considerate
In as much as your policy remains adamant to unfold the reason behind the refusal of any application, it will be a great remark if you can stop stamping the e-passport which you know its sensitive for entry refusal for other consulates and implicative to the applicant who has a good application motive.

why will the embassy refuse to grant visa to a flight attendant
Am a flight attendant, and we fly on charter bases as due to our clent demand. My company apply for french for me to be able to carry out my duties on board the aircraft to french and they stamp my dear passport a refuse. I wonder will someone in his right scense refuse given visa to a flight attendant. Je envie d'penser si c'est humaine qui sont la, ou c'est animaux.

correct phone number.
Could the france embassy or the consulate-General in nentes france give out their correct telephone number to eneble the candidate who apple their visa refusal to know the the decision, hence is taking so long?
This is unprofessional and if they have nothing to hide why are they not letting visa appel applicant to have one on one talk with any of the officials? it's strenge.
I do hope to see changes to this effect soonest.
Regards.
Dave.

University Courses That Are Waste Of Time
People go to university to study a course in hope of future amelioration. However, most of the many courses that used to be hot cake in time past are whitewashed with the influx of many people who just learn the course outside university in a matter of months.Going to university to study the following courses many deem to be a waste of time. The courses are:
Computer Science-countless number of people are in the known in this field.
Theatre Arts/Music- Theatre arts is a free entry and exit field. Most people in the industry have no degree in the field.
Animal Science-The course isn't marketable in a country like ours where people give no value to the life of animals.
Philosophy-This course is more valuable in the olden days where people appreciate the thinkers not in our present time. The situation of the country makes everybody a thinker to survive in this country.
Political Science:Spending years studying this course is a waste of time and resources.People are procedure conscious when it comes to politics.how many political scientists are in position of power to regulate the politics of our country.
